Hello guys,

I`ve received a job offer from NZ employer (not accredited) and I will be applying for a temporary work visa. I`m a little confused about the whole application process (there`s just too much info!), but I don`t want to pay for a lawyer. I hope with your help I`ll be able to apply by myself

So my questions are:

1. Just to check - is the Essential skills category the best option to start working asap?

2. I will be applying for the position of Cabinet-maker which is also my education. The problem is that my formal title is Wood science technician and it is not on the ANZSCO list of occupations. What does this mean? Will my diploma be enough for INZ or do I need to go through some process to obtain the exact same title as in my job offer? The employer has no problem with my title.

3. My occupation is not on the SSL so the employer will need to give evidence there is no NZ worker available. Do I need to present proof of that when I`m applying for the visa or does the immigration contact the employer after they receive my application? Can I expect help from the employer with the whole process (they didn`t say anything about that) or you need to do it yourself usually?

4. There is no end date stated in the contract, just that "the agreement shall continue until terminated by either party". What does this mean for the length of the visa, what can I expect?

5. Other than Medical & Police certificate, proof of education & work experience, passport & birth certificate, will I need to present any other documents?

6. Will I need to pass IELTS test?

7. Any advice about the choice of the medical clinic (I`m in Auckland)? I`ve called a few and they have very different prices. But I`m affraid if I choose the cheapest one, I`ll regret it ...

Wish you all a great day!
