Expatriate new zealander? Help to fill this section in form
Hi,
I'm just filling up form INZ1000 (family category residency)
First option is -
Is your partner or parent an expatriate New Zealander? YES / NO
For the purposes of prioritising such applications, an expatriate New Zealander is either:
• a New Zealand citizen, or
• the holder of a residence class visa,
and has been absent from New Zealand for at least two years prior to the date of this application (apart from short visits).
After we got married, my wife is staying with me in India (since 2009) and she never returned back to New Zealand. So should I select "YES"?
What do you think could be effect on priority? which is high priority?
Regards,
Sj

That's a 'yes', definitely.
INZ have the reputation of liking their Kiwis to come home, and if the price is bringing their foreign partners with them, that's okay - so it certainly won't do you any harm.
