Default Where to buy firewood in Auckland

Hoping to get a woodburner installed next week. Any recommendations for where to buy wood and what type of wood?

    TIA

Where to buy wood depends on where you live as they tend to do free or cheaper delivery in their local area. Trade Me has lots of firewood.

Hot mix is good; pine burns faster and more easily but it means you use up the logs faster, so it's good to have some slower burning woods too.

The Mt Roskill firewood place on New North Road---skip it. Not good prices. We use timber from a tree we cut down (pine), but still by the starter logs at New World and Mitre 10, since they make having a fire much easier. Our friends get a pile dumped on their driveway after buying from TradeMe.

Bear in mind what resources and inclination you have towards split wood, since often you'll get rather large logs.
