Default I just found this site, enabling instand visa check (SMC)

    Hi there,

I came across this site: www.avas.co.nz.
It offers an instant assessment of your visa chances (SMC atm I think), and might be interesting for anybody who's wanting to test the waters with their New Zealand immigration. It looks easy to use and offers quality feedback for a small fee.
Let me know how you go.

I haven't heard of these people and the service may be okay, but when I checked out Downunder Migration Services (the company that provides the avas website) and specifically the name of the Director (Thomas Otto), the IAA (Immigration Advisers Association) website says that they are no longer licensed. Most of us (Licensed Immigration Advisers) do free assessments of your visa possibilities, so I guess it depends on whether the quality is better than others provide. Try www.iaa.govt.nz to check for yourself.

Strange, the link at this page says

Downunder Migration Services Ltd. provides services to advisers and consumers related to immigration matters. All AVAS offerings are provided through agents who are licensed immigration adviser, unless exempt.
and then points to its parent website , which is all good but then when you search the company on NZ Business Listing, there is no reference. Most part of the website sounds consistent but the missing company on the registrar is bit off.

They might be just starting up so I'd wait to hear from others and the website to build up some credibility first.

The licences of the Advisers expired in 2011.

It is indeed when you mention "instant" & "small fee"
