Upgrading to Residence Visa
Hi folks,
Last week I received this fantastic news that my Work Visa was approved. I applied for the category "Work to residence", since I'm a software developer and this profession is listed on LTSSL, but I didn't know that I had to had my tertiary diploma assessment by NZQA. The immigration officer kindly suggested to change category for just "Work", since it wouldn't be possible to them to wait for at least 20 working days to get my diploma assessment.
That said, now I want to know what is the best option to get my Residence Visa. For what I researched, I have 3 options:
1 - Apply again for "Work to Residence" category, and work for 2 years to be eligible to get residence.
2 - Do a IELTS test and apply for EOI, since I'm already working here in New Zealand on a profession listed on LTSSL.
3 - Work for 1 year with my current Visa, and then apply for EOI, so IELTS test wouldn't be required.
Am I correct about these options? Are there any other ways? What do you suggest?
PS1: I know that the first thing I have to do know is to get my diploma assessment, I'm already gathering all the docs to apply for it.
PS2: At EOI points indicator page, I got 180 points.
Thank you very much for your help!
