    Default Living in Gisborne

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to this forum. I'm a 25yr old guy from india. I've received a job offer in NZ. My site of work will probably be Gisborne. I just wanted to know how Gisborne is in general, for living and work. I'll probably be getting a salary of around 70k $ per annum. Is it a sufficient amount to live in Gisborne ? How is the rent and access to healthcare in Gisborne ? Is it a better idea to rent a place alone or search for flatmates instead initially ? Any replies will be of great help.

    Cheers.

    Congratulations on the job offer.

I hope someone will be along with some up to date comments about Gisborne, but meantime, here are some mentions on existing threads, to give you something to think about. https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz.org+Gisborne

    Hi
My daughter lives and works in Gisborne. Gisborne is a good place to work, $70,000 is plenty to live on. Access to healthcare is excellent rents are very reasonable. Gisborne is very remote but does have an airport. Access by car can be around 3 hours from either Whakatane or Napier.

If you like lovely safe sandy beaches Gisborne is the place. Not only is Waikanae minutes from the city centre, you have Midway & Stanley Road for surfing. Up the coast, going over Kaiti bridge , to Makorori,Pouawa, etc.etc.
    Enjoy Gisborne.

Thanks a lot guys I'd also like suggestions on how to search for flatmates or a place to stay in Gizzy. Are there any good websites apart from Trademe that I can make use of, for this purpose ? or is it better to search locally once I'm there ?
    Any tips or advice ?
