Default Warning - Scam site pretending to be Immigration NZ

There has been coverage in the NZ press today about a scam website that is trying to capture passport details and other sensitive info:
    http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/ar...ectid=11489457

The scammer site tries to look like the Immigration NZ site and has a very similar URL, so be careful.
Make sure you are on the correct site: http://www.immigration.govt.nz
The fake site has a - between the immigration and govt, not a .

It would be great if the real site used encryption to help verify its identity, but for some reason it doesn't.

One way to identify scam websites is with the secured lock symbol which appears besides the site, most of the government websites use "https" which is another way to identify authenticity of a website.

Believe it or not, INZ's site isn't configured to provide identity details and not all of the content is set to be served via their secure server, so you can't count on this for this specific site.
