Work Visa Status 'Pending' ??

Hi

I lodged a work visa on 15th of July and since then my status has been showing as pending.And I haven't heard anything from the immigration yet.

Also I suspect my medical may have passed down to the medical assessor time because there was some abnormal findings in my chest x-ray.But I am just assuming.

Should I call immigration and ask them for an update ? Because I read on someone's post here that the immigration missed out on their application and they were left waiting until they actually told the immigration that no case officer was appointed to them.

Or I should just wait for the case officer to be appointed because there might be a backlog ?

Any answers are welcome.

It's part of process to check if I am eligible to stay and work in NZ

How's your application going on?
I've also submitted my application on 29th July 2015 and it's still pending so far.
When I email and asked about the status of the application a couple of weeks ago, I got a reply the following reply (due to being a Hep B carrier). Since then, there's no update from them. Seems like there are quite a lot of backlogs for MAs to go through until my application is being processed.

"We have identified some issues of possible concern in regards to the health information provided on your medical/chest X-ray certificate. Your medical and chest X-ray certificate has been referred to the Medical Assessor. This could take up to six weeks before it is returned. Your application will be held at this office until this certificate is assessed and returned. You may then be asked to provide additional information in the form of specialist reports clarifying the nature and prognosis of your condition."

Sadly I've got the referral too.I visited one of the immigration branches in Manukau and they told me my medical was referred to the medical team.They also told me that there is no time-frame for the referrals.So I think all I can do now is wait.

On my applications page it says they received my medical on the 22nd of July 2015,so I guess its only been 5 weeks .. Waiting is hardddd !

I finally got email from MA requesting for the additional test results. (exactly one month after being referred to MA)
Hope it won't take another one month after submission of additional test results.
