Default Need another 10 points .. any suggestion

    I am 37 , applying under SMC

IQA completd , Level 7 Degree Computer Science

    Points so far
    25 points: 30-39 years
50 points: recognised level 7 or 8 qualification (e.g. bachelor degree, bachelor degree with honours)

    Work experience in skilled employment
    30 points: 10 years.
10 points: qualification in an identified future growth area
10 points: qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage

    The calculator = 130 points

Any other way i can get extra 10 points ? Except job offer and partner degree?

    Check this.
    http://www.immigration.govt.nz/NR/rd.../0/INZ1101.pdf

You have 10 years of experience, and not sure why you can only claim 10 points for the following
10 points: qualification in an identified future growth area
10 points: qualification in an area of absolute skills shortage

if more than 6 years you will get 15 points I think....

    Please check

The calculator is not entirely trustworthy. I always recommend looking at the detailed regulations, here. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/6954.htm SM6 has the listing for all possible points, with the last column showing which other sections to go on to for the requirements.

First large problem I see with what you have said - nobody can claim for absolute skills shortage AND identified future growth, as varma said. If you have a skilled job, or job offer, in NZ, you can claim for future growth, but if not, then it's absolute skills shortage. And also, as Roger J said, you should check if your past work qualifies for bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage - 6 years or more will get you 15 points.

    Hi,

Instead of checking you points here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/pointsindicator/, better create an account and check from the following link, this will be your accurate point

If you are married, then you can claim partner point as 20 if partner gets IQA qualified.

Oh Ok, I noticed that you do not want to include partner points.
