Online status-confused

my Resident visa has changed from pending to approved but immigration status is still on work visa..what does it means??

To clarify your Q, The Online status changes to Resident visa only when INZ issues Resident visa sticker on your Passport.

Don't be afraid, you are all good.

You will receive AIP letter in a week or two explaining further actions required from your end to get the Resident visa stickers (Blue stickers on your passport)
by payment of Migrant levy and submitting your passport along.

I think that's right. You HAVE your work visa - that is what, at the moment, is making you legally able to live and work in NZ. You are approved FOR the Resident visa, but you won't have it till you've paid the Migrant Levy and the visa sticker has been put in your passport.
