Default work visa to residence to pr

tried to find the answers in the forum with no luck, or maybe i didn't look closely enough)))
how much it takes to get residence visa after receiving work visa?
and time between residence and PR?
    and between PR and citizenship?

if there's an answer already in this forum i'd be happy if someone shared the link..

    thx

I've seen on your other thread that you have a job offer.

The normal thing in that situation is to apply for a temporary work visa of some kind, because that can be processed the most quickly, and not keep the employer waiting any longer than necessary for their new worker. At the same time, you can put in for Residence under the Skilled Migrant Category. You will be using a lot of the same evidence, which helps. You will already have started working, and the Residence application will tick along in the background, taking the time it takes.

There is a lot of variation in how long visas take to process, because ever person's situation is individual, and every piece of evidence is checked out. The workload in INZ offices fluctuates, too, according to the volume of applications.

If you Google "Immigration NZ (whatever branch) processing times" you should come up with a page showing their own estimate of timing, but this is an average based on how things have been running recently. INZ timings are always elastic, and never a promise.

PR is a visa you can apply for a minimum of two years after you activate your Residence visa. Here's how to qualify. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...quirements.htm

Independently of that, you have to have been a resident for five years before you can apply for citizenship. There are requirements (of time spent in the country, and other things) to be met for that, too. Details start here. http://www.dia.govt.nz/diawebsite.ns...1?OpenDocument

Email notification of what? - I haven't gathered what stage you are actually at.

However, it may save you some heartache to know the following.
    1. Online notifications are put up by people in a different department of INZ from the COs actually working cases, so can be out of phase with the current situation on the case.
    2. The COs' job is to focus on moving their cases through, so telling people 'now your case is doing this, now your case is doing that' is not part of it, as that time could be better spent doing something on another person's application which would get it one step nearer to granting their visa. This is why EVERYONE spends long periods of time with no contact from INZ. These times are when the CO doesn't need any more information, and hasn't any news of a result to give.

Oh, well, no harm in your knowing the other information as well!

I don't know - I'll draw the site owner's information to the fact you didn't get the notification. He's the person who goes into 'the works'!

jand i don't want to open another thread for couple of questions, it seems you're the man to run to over here)

    1) i understood from my employer, with my working visa i receive government medical insurance for me and my family? is it reliable and covers everything or should i pay for another private insurance?
    2) i'm paying for the amenities inside the house? what's the most expensive of it all, electricity or gas, or water or internet?
    3) how exactly NZ taxes work, you already know my salary per year is 96000NZ and he added on the contract: "an amount of $140 added to and subtracted from your base wage to account for tax on the benefit in kind"whatever that means?
4)can i join kiwisaver as a foreigner on working visa or should i have residence visa for that?

    appreciate any leads!!!

    thx

    1. If you have a work visa that will run 24 months or more, or Residence, you are entitled to use the NZ Health System on the same basis as the NZers. See here https://www.newzealandnow.govt.nz/li...-nz/healthcare, and on the link at the bottom of that page, Paying for health care services to get an overview of how things work. It is a great service and there is no actual need for extra insurance.

    2. It's hard to be specific about this, as there are so many variables involved, both with what provider(s) you use, and what you actually use for your lifestyle. Here are some old threads that might give you some ideas, and specific questions to ask some of the posters, possibly. https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz...er%2C+internet

    3. "an amount of $140 added to and subtracted from your base wage to account for tax on the benefit in kind" will be referring to taxing you for some advantage you get from your employment that isn't in the form of money. This could be something like being lodged for free, or having the use of a company vehicle. Some other threads that may help. http://www.enz.org/income-tax-in-new-zealand.html https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz.org+nz+tax+system

    4. You can't join kiwisaver until you have Residence. http://www.kiwisaver.govt.nz/new/join/who-can/

I thought you would have also found the NZ IRD website, and those posts would just be background. Anyway, here you go for the official word on all this. http://www.ird.govt.nz/how-to/taxrat...etaxrates.html
