The NZ IT landscape is dominated by Microsoft... There is Java work but it is significantly less per capita compared to Aus, Europe, North America, etc...

I agree with G-Mo.
But nobody can tell you directly that you can get job easily.
There will be so many parameters people will measure. It is not only your skillset, which matters, but also on the specific requirements, adaptability, communication etc.
One thing for sure is, NZ Recruiters go by each word of the requirement they have and matches with your experience (not only skill set). They don't believe if you say you are expert in Angular but they will check in your experience in your previous projects / companies.
Nothing discouraging but this is just my input.
