Help! What spider is this?

Please could someone identify this horrid thing on my bedroom window. Taken in Army Bay, Whangaporoa.

Oh, it does look as if it could well be, with those two 'eyes' on it.

it's big, but completely harmless. The only spider to be at all concerned about is this one:

Pick it up in a cup with paper over the top, and deposit it in a bush outside somewhere.
