NOBODY does mess-up things on purpose, but we all accidentally make mistakes sometimes, even the most organized and responsible people. (My son did this exact same thing a few years ago, returning from a trip to Australia with expired travel conditions, on a flight that got in after midnight, accompanied by his NZ wife and two children under five. Immigration at the airport gave him a visitor's visa till the NEXT DAY, with instructions to be at the INZ office at 9 the next morning in person, to get sorted out.)

They gave me a month with mine basically said I couldn't go back to work and I should get it sorted out ASAP! I arrived back on a Saturday midnight also wasn't good news to hear after a nearly 2 day travel time
