    Default Partnership residency advice

    Hi there guys

I'm just looking for some advice on partnership resident visa ......

My partners sister married a guy from the UK 2 years ago .... it's come to light that he has had an affair and our suspicions are he only married her to stay in the country ..... is it possible to inform immigration and have his visa revoked due to adultery or something along them lines ????

Any advise would be nice it's horrible seeing the partners sister so torn up

    Thanks guys

    No.

A person's partnership - living with the NZ citizen or resident (and marriage is not required) for at least 12 months - BEFORE the application is what qualifies them to get partner-sponsored residence, and that is very carefully investigated by Immigration NZ. Once the residence is granted, it belongs absolutely to that person, condition free, and they do not depend on the partner any longer for their status in the country.

Well, here's hoping your partner's sister can soon come round to feeling better about being without him.
