Default Further medical is last requiremen?

    Hi there folks
Can you please shed light on this one.
Employer questionnaire submitted to CO 3 weeks ago and additional documents like partnership, time and wage records, dependent children proof submitted to CO 4 weeks ago. Haven't heard from CO since my full blood count result done 4 weeks ago.
What's the next step? Do you think CO is satisfied with employment documentation as skilled?
Would love to hear from you.
    Cheers!

There is no way to tell. The CO can't recommend that a visa be issued (even if everything else is in order) until s/he gets the word from the MA that the medical has been passed. Likewise, the CO has to hear back from everyone s/he has contacted that all your evidence is genuine. S/He will not contact you if s/he has no need of more information that you can give for the moment, or if there is nothing to tell you.

The COs' job is to focus on moving their cases through, so telling people 'now your case is doing this, now your case is doing that' is not part of it, as that time could be better spent doing something on another person's application which would get it one step nearer to granting their visa. This is why EVERYONE spends long periods of time with no contact from INZ. These times are when the CO doesn't need any more information, and hasn't any news of a result to give.

Thanks JandM. I have a mild thrombocytophenia which was dismissed by a medical specialist last 2011 after having had further medicals. He said I'm fit and well to work. I tried to compare my platelet count last 2011 with my latest one and the count improved 25 points so I guess the MA will have the same comment as before. I sent the old specialist report to CO to assist her in the process.
I have been in New Zealand for 8 years working on a dairy farm. I have had 2 employers back in the Philippines about 25 years ago and the work references I've been using don't have updated contact details I guess. What if CO won't be able to contact them?

    Cheers

I don't think the CO is likely to be bothered about contacting those people from 25 years ago, not with your more recent history in NZ and your existing visa in place with no problems - if s/he is, s/he'll let you know.

Thanks a lot JandM. Your answers are very helpful. I hope the medical is the last hurdle of the process. Haven't heard from my immigration adviser since October 23 the date my employer submitted the answered questionnaire to CO.

The time since your employer's questionnaire isn't to be taken as suggesting difficulties, or loads of extra things happening on your case. When that piece of paperwork was sent in, it would be added to your file, wherever in the CO's rotating queue of allocated cases it happens to be at the moment. The CO won't have looked at it till s/he had worked through what could be done on each of the cases before it - your file had to work its way to the front of the queue again before it next got his/her attention.

As I said before, if there's nothing to tell yet, they aren't going to be in touch.

Thanks JandM. As compared to the members of this group would you rate from 1-10 the possibility that the CO has already reviewed my Skilled Employment and is only awaiting the MA's comment about my medical? I had 195 points under SMC. I'm a Herd Manager/2 IC direct reporting to employer and I have 3-4 staff under me. I'm a veterinary medicine with 50 points as a recognized qualification. My wife has a full time job here and she is a nursing graduate but chose not to claim points for recognised qualification. 2 of my dependent children have bachelor degrees.

    Thanks in advance JndM.

It's very normal to wish to be able to read the future, or see through walls into the INZ office where your file is sitting. I'm not any better at it than you are, though!

As I said before, having been granted those previous work visas, your chances are good for getting the residence. But there is no set order for the CO to work through the checklist of evidence, so we don't know where your CO will have begun. We don't know if all the third parties s/he had to approach for verification will have answered promptly - or not. All I can say is good luck, and I hope you get good news soon.

    Thanks again JandM.
Yeah all we can do now is to await for a good result. I will tell here soon as I have an update from INZ.
    Cheers!

    Hi JandM.
I have another concern. My online INZ account previously recorded Full Medical Certificate Received 20 May 2015 (date when our application was successfully lodged). As I checked today the date changed to 12 Nov 2015. Does this mean CO has received medical result referred to MA 3 weeks ago?
    Thanks in advance and cheers.
