When you had your IQA done, did you send in the form at Appendix B http://www.immigration.govt.nz/NR/rd...ifications.pdf, which NZQA themselves may have sent you, or in any other way ask them to compare your qualification with the requirements for the Long Term Skill Shortage list? http://skillshortages.immigration.go...ware-engineer/ If so, what did the letter say about it? From the list there, the nearest wording is "Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences (Computer Science) or (Computational Intelligence) or (IT Service Science) or (Networks and Security) or (Software Development) (NZQF Level 7)
- Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science) (NZQF Level 7 or 8)" and your 'Bachelor of Computer Science' isn't EXACTLY that.
You need to look here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/6954.htm for the detailed regulations for claiming points, to compare your situation with these. SM6 has a chart with all points available, and the other sections show detailed requirements for claiming points under the different headings.
An important basic fact is that having your qualification recognized as comparable to one of those mentioned for the LTSSL (as mentioned in my first paragraph) is what unlocks the bonus points for both qualification and work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage. It is the bachelor's degree which has to be stated by NZQA to be comparable. (You still get the 60 points for your higher degree.) Without its being comparable, you can't get ANY bonus points. So that is the question that needs to be sorted out first.
Your question 3. Their example is, "It is relevant to your recognised qualification, or your skilled employment." So, when you think about your responsibilities at work in each job you have held, did they use what you studied at university to get your qualification? That would lead to an answer (with proper brief details) such as, 'I studied X and Y topics, and in this job I needed to know X for these duties, and Y for those duties.' And when you look at the ANZSCO description for Software Engineer, your job description should include a lot of the same material.

Thank you for your reply.
i received my doc from NZQA on 27 nov,2015.
In the document it stated
For qualification 1 which is Bachelor of computer science and information Technology
Assesment outcome A bachelor of Computer and Information sciences degree at level 7 (360 credits)
For Qualification 2 which is Degree of master science information technology (software engineering of distributed system)
Assesment outcome: A master of service oriented computing degree at level 9
The query is in Eoi i m claiming the pts for my master degree which is 60 in qualification section.
For absolute skill shortage bonus pts the req is u should have level 7 or level 8 degree as stated in the long term skill docuemt In this section should i claim the pts for my bachelor degree or master degree.?

Did it say, 'This is a specified outcome,' anywhere? And did you ask them, either with that form, or in a cover letter, about comparability for the list of NZ qualifications for LTSSL for Software Engineer?
Yes, it's the bachelor degree that MIGHT get you points for ASS, but ONLY if NZQA have stated it is comparable to something on the list - and they HAVEN'T yet, as far as what you have so far quoted from them. See my third paragraph above. Unless you sort this out with NZQA, some of the points you are wanting to claim on your EOI will not be allowed by INZ, and it will not be selected.

This is what I understand correct me If i am wrong
My bachelor degree is comparable to long term skill shortage “Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences (Computer Science) level 7” which unlocks the bonus points for both qualification and work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
However, I have not found my master degree level 9 in the list of long term skill shortage. I raise this question to IQA for verification also requested the form NEW ZEALAND QUALIFICATIONS AUTHORITY QUALIFICATION COMPARABILITY ASSESSMENT REQUEST if possible as i already have the result. will update once i go the answer from them.
Is is possible that I claim pts only for my bachelor degree.which unlocks the bonus points for both qualification and work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage. In that case i still have 140 pts.

Oh, GOOD! Now I see the whole thing, yes - this outcome gives you the comparability you need to unlock the bonus points from LTSSL. Your EOI should be selected without problem.
You won't see your Master's degree listed under LTSSL. You just get the 60 points for that, and it is irrelevant as far as LTSSL is concerned.

Thanks for your reply
Now I am confused regarding my Q2
Should I apply based on my bachelor degree only to get pts for education and also bonus pts for LTSSL. (I will have 140 pts )
OR
Is is possible to to apply based on both both degrees. qualification pts based on my mater degree and LTSSL based on bachelor degree as shows in the image below

I will have 150 pts

(You are going to have to look at a link here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/NR/rd...30July2012.pdf, because I only have access to the 'paper' version of the EOI form, not the one you fill in online, and it looks as though they are a bit different in layout, but you should be able to compare questions and sort it out from there.)
You enter your Master's AND your bachelor's in the first section where qualifications are mentioned. (FI on that form.) Because your Master's has been assessed as a Level 9, you get the 60 points.
Then, LATER, (F13 on that form), you find the question, 'Are you claiming points for a qualification in one of the areas of absolute skills shortage?' and that is the place where you enter details of your Bachelor's again, as being the qualification that qualifies you to LTSSL.

This is what i get the answer of my query from immigration but i can not open the link as stated below i can use only my bachelor degree.
You can only claim points for one qualification. For example if you are claiming points for the Level 9 qualification but it does not meet the requirements for bonus points under the absolute skilled shortage than you would not be eligible to claim the bonus points however if you claim points for the Level 7 qualification and you are eligible to claim the bonus points as your Level 7 meets the bonus points requirement then you are eligible to apply for bonus points.
You are unable to use two different qualifications to claim for points you can only use one qualification to claim for both the qualification and bonus points.

Q1) I do not need to mention my master degree in EOI ?
