    Default Partnership Visa Dilema

    Is there any exception to having sponsored someone else within the last 5 years?

    I am a NZ citizen and About 3 years completed an application to have my ex come and live. We split shortly after and I have now been married to someone else for a year and with them for two.

    Is there anyway to get them to come to NZ while I go to school even though the 5 years hasn't been up?

    No, there aren't any exceptions to the five-year gap before you can sponsor again.

    Does your partner have a skilled career? Would it be possible for them to apply for a visa in their own right?
