    Default citizenship rules doubts

Hi All, It may be a silly question but really i could not find an answer till now. My question is: when we can claim for citizenship since our first arrival to NZ which activates 2 years residency?
i am now planning to move on april as a SMC (my first enrty), i believe after two years from first entry i will have the rights to remove the condition travels and get PR. BUT after that, hiw many years should i spend to claim the citizenship? Is it 3 years after the 2 years of firat entry, then the total will be 5 years or 5 years after i get the PR so it will be after 7 years of the first entry??

The residence requirement for citizenship is a minimum of five years living in NZ on Residence and Permanent Residence visas. So, depending on meeting the other requirements, it can be around five years after first arriving and activating your Residence visas.
