    Default Salary for work visa

I have got a letter from immigration stated that they have concerns regarding my hourly payment rate:

"You have been offered an annual salary of $30,000. Based on a 40 hour week,
this equates to an hourly wage of $14.42 which is below the minimum wage."

"Effective from the 1 April 2015, section 4 of the Minimum Wage Order 2015 (as
attached) instructs that the minimum adult wage is $14.75 per hour."

I don't understand the way they are counting. It's supposed to be:
    $30,000/12 = $2500 per month
    $2500/4 = $625 per week
    $625/5 = $125 per day
    $125/8 = $15,63 per hour

    Am I counting wrong?

The minimum wage in this country is shocking...How do they expect people to live on this! No wonder there is a trend of people that sleep in the same bed to save on rent!

Their calculation is correct. 52 weeks x 40 hours = 2,080 hours per year.
    30,000/2080 = $14.42 per hour.
Your calculation is flawed. You're assuming every month has the same number of days. While January has 31 days, February only has 28/29 days and April has 30 days.

Hi there, just a quick question related to salary.
we are requested to present the contract showing hours and amount offered for SMC, but do we have to present the payslips to prove that you acutally earn that? is it the same to present an IRD earnings summary?

I think you should present exactly what they're asking for. No more. No less. If they ask you to provide the "contract showing hours and amount offered", then give them the contract.
Checking the actual payment is part of their verification work, and if they need, they will tell you exactly the documents required. It can be payslips, IRD earning summary or bank statements to ascertain that the salary in the contract is indeed paid correctly.
Unless you have had a pay rise recently and it's not updated on your contract.

may not be understanding your question, but if you are a resident (without Section 49 conditions) you can work where and when) you like, or not.
