    Default can non-primary applicant become PR when her resident visa has expired?

    Hi everyone
    Come in and throw in some ideas...

    Situation:
    I am the primary applicant and resident visa holder currently in NZ. Wife and kids (non-primary) are resident visa holder too but has gone back to our home country

    Question:
    I am going to reside in NZ for two years to fulfill the number of days in NZ requirement to change my resident visa to PR. I understand that The only requirement for the grant of a permanent resident visa to a non-principal applicant is that the principal applicant must hold a permanent resident visa.

    what if during my application, their resident visa travel condition has lapsed and hence their resident visa is deemed invalid? will they still get the PR when I become a PR?

    err..anyone could comment on this?

    will my non-primary applicants (with their expired resident visa, if they are outside of NZ when travel condition lapses) get their PR too when I got my PR?

    or will Immigration NZ reject my PR application because they no longer hold a valid resident visa?

    @JandM?

    so long as they activated their original resident visa, they just need to be included in your application for PRV when the time comes. Simple answer is "yes"
