What is the maximum allowed cash that one can bring with him?
Which is better to transfer money to a. Bank of new zealand or b.kiwis bank? In terma which bank offers for example 1 year installments for if you buy through their card?

Do not carry a lot of cash. It opens doors re confirmation of where it came from, know your customer bank checks etc etc.

Carry a little cash. Keep some in your old account that you can use your card for and cancel once your in NZ and your NZ bank is operational and working.

Open your bank acc now. We used west pac tho there are others. Transfer your money into that. On day of arrival attend your nearest westpac branch and show your id etc and they will then let you withdraw money over the counter from your account until your account stationary arrives.

To transfer the money in. We used transfer wise rather than our bank or other FX company as they gave us the best rate, quickest time and least charges. I have a friend voucher that I can give you to cut down on fees.

Cash and negotiable instruments (ie. personal cheques, bank drafts, etc.) maximum total to bring to NZ WITHOUT HAVING TO DECLARE is $10,000 NZD. There is no limit to what you bring as long as you declare and state the source of the funds (where it came from).
