    Default Question about Medical result

    Hi all,

My partner recently had her medical done for her next visa application, we had an email from the receptionist (not the doctor) saying the results we fine and normal, however when we looked at the results ourselves we have seen that two of the results were just below the "normal" range. One was the MCV, she got 78 fl and the normal rage is 80 - 99, the other result was the MCH, she got 24pg and the normal range is 27 - 33.

Can anyone tell us if we should be concerned about this and/or what these results even mean and what we could do to improve them should she need to be tested again? Also the doctor has put LL next to those two results????

The receptionist at the clinic told us that a few points outside of the normal range is still considered normal, but it would be more reassuring to seek other peoples thoughts and experience on this of course.

I understand that if there is any concerns with a blood test that immigration may ask you to do the test again to see if things have improved, however my partner and I will be apart when she applies for her visa and we are unsure about how to go about getting the test done again in her country, for example what test to ask for, and asking if they are able to upload the results to her immigration file (im not sure they can do that in Armenia or not)

Hi there, are you saying you had to do the test again because you test was one point low? Or when you did the test again it was only one point low?

Thank you for your information, did you have to take any pills or some sort of treatment for your new results? also were you told these results were abnormal?
We have been told our results are normal and that immigration should not worry about these as a few points outside of the normal margin is still considered normal, and we were told by the clinic that there is not abnormalities or significant findings. But your first results are very very similar to my partners and you were told to get yours done again.

    Hi Catash,

Do you mean they have referred your medical to a MA because one if your results was just one point outside of the normal range? When you had the second test done did the doctor still say it was abnormal/significant?

My partner had her medical done at immigration express in Christchurch, its a place which specialises in medicals for immigration so I figured there knowledge would be quite good as they would have experience with immigration, they have reassured us that the results my partner got will be fine for immigration even though she is a few points under on the MCV and MCH, but after seeing what has happened to you I am starting to doubt them.

    Ho David12345

I think its just the way the system is, event you have 1 abnormal it will still be referred

So i dont think there is anything to be doubt about

    Everything will be fine

'Being fine' isn't the same as 'not getting referred', necessarily. It's fine if you get referred and the MA can see that it's all about next to nothing.
