Default Paassport for child when one of the parents is already in New Zealand

    Hello friends

When my wife approached passport seva kendra for my child's passport applicatin, officials asked to get the affidavit from Indian embassy in NZ since am currently residing in NZ. There are two ways to get affidavit
    1. By submitting application in person at Indian embassy in Wellington
    2. Send application, passport etc through post to embassy
Since I stay in Auckland, thought of sending it through post. Since, no where SLA is mentioned for getting the affidavit, pls can you suggest me the best way and timelines to get affidavit in hand for all the options.
Also, pls point out any difficulties or suggestions it this case.

    Thanks and regards.

Hi, it is advisable to call the embassy whether they can accept attested copy of the Passport by a Justice of Peace (JP) or any other authorized personnel. If so you may not need to send the original passport by post.

I did the same but I'm not from India.

    Regards,
