    Default Working Visa

Hi! I would like to ask for an advise. i am currently a CAP student ( NZ Nursing) here in NZ. I am on my 2nd week of placement in Timaru. My current placement (rest home) is recruiting for new RNs but only in fix-terms (12months). I am planning to apply for a job at the facility after my placement and when i will get my registration as a registered nurse here in NZ. May I ask for directions on what I am going to do?

Someone told me that I should call immigration and will ask for a note that I can be approve with a working visa even if the employer will only give a fix term contract.

    Hope someone could help me.
    Thank you!

It is certainly possible to get a work visa with only a fixed term contract - INZ just give the visa for the length of the contract.

This is as long as you, and the job, and the employer, meet the other conditions necessary, of course. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra.../requirements/
