Default Holds a valid work visa but does not work is considered legal stay in NZ?

Hi there. Will you be an illegal stayer in NZ if you hold a work visa but you have resigned from your job while you hunt for another job in NZ?

You do have an obligation to advise INZ of a change in circumstances, but there would be a reasonable period of time to do so. if there is a reasonable prospect of further employment, but its taking some time, you may want to apply for a visitor visa in the meantime.

Thanks CrisMwn. Here's my situation, I was granted a visitor visa for 12 months Sep2015 but I had a job offer so I lodged a work visa application and was approved Jan2016 valid for a year. Is there any chance I'll be granted another visitor's visa if I resigned from my job and do job search while my work visa is valid?
