Default PR for NZ for type 2 Diabetic Patient - will I get PR

    Hi,

I am diabetes - type 2 patient from last 3 years. I am in NZ for last 3.5 yrs and hold Skilled Migrant work Visa. Recently, I have applied for PR last month but my concern is whether I will get PR or not due to this.

So far, I have not faced any problem in getting my work visa though every time it's assigned to Medical Officer. When I have applied for work visa last year, my H1BAC reading was 64 mmol ( 8%) and rest all other tests were normal like liver, heart, kidney and all.

Can you please guide whether there will be any challenge now for PR. I am soon going to submit my h1BAC report to immigration for PR. when I have done my test last time, it was 57 mmol.

Please guide here and what should be good reading for H1BAC for PR and whether I will get that if I am a diabetic patient.

    Thanks
    Amit

terminology here? Are you on a work visa and applying for residence under SMC, or are you already a resident and looking for your permanent resident visa after two years as a resident?
Either way, an HbA1C level of 8% would have no effect on whether you are ASH. Diabetes in itself is not a problem, its undiagnosed kidney or retinal issues that creates problems

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I am currently on a work visa and applied for residence under SMC. Hope, 8% is acceptable for PR. Others tests are very normal.

    Thanks
    Amit
