Default Support essential skills work visa

    Hi all,
I'm am working full time on a level 4 job. My employer promises to support my work visa application in the essential skill category. There is a new procedure related to how to provide evidence there are no NZ workers available on Immigration website, but I'm still unclear on this point:
    - As the website only says that the employer must show it has genuinely searched for NZ workers, but it does not say anything about advertising the position. Does my employer still needs to advertise the position in the support process? (Actually, my employer thinks that they dont have to do that because I'm currently employed!).

    Thank you very much!

They should do a letter saying why you are the best for the position... maybe because you have X time in the company and you know all the processes... At the same time, the should explain why looking for a new person will cost them more...

Are these http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/45981.htm the regulations you had found?

How did you get this position? - did you not answer an advertisement for it before you were appointed?

For level 4 skills job, you need to have Skills Match Report

Your employer has to advertise the role AND engage with Work and Income as well.
If the occupation is lower-skilled (level 4 or 5 of the ANZSCO), you must Engage with Work and Income before supporting a migrant’s visa application. Work and Income will put you in contact with any suitable, available jobseekers and may be able to provide support to help you employ staff. If you decide to support a work visa application after engaging with Work and Income, you and INZ will be provided with a Skills Match Report showing the outcome of your interaction with Work and Income.

I started as a part time and low position in the company through an advertisement on my employer's website. After one year, when somebody doing my current position left, I approached my employer and she agreed me to do the job (still part time) and study the relevant qualification simultaneously. When I finished the study, I converted to full time. I'm still waiting for the qualification from NZQA.

    Thank you very much.
