I have seen the ads for the project Banks Whitby

I was thinking of buying a land there and construct a house

As this is my first real estate investment, I have no idea on what to look out for

If any member has invested or done any research on this project, I shall be grateful if they can share it with me.

We have been looking at that area as well. We found the home & land packages too expensive. Something to look out for is the location compared to the mountain, i.e. how much sun do you get in the afternoon. Some lots don't get much sun.

Hi there

The plots are going for 250k and the construction cost per sqm is approximately 2250 nzd
So for a 180-200 sqm house you have to shell out around 400k in construction costs

I think that's the asking prices for the land and house packages is around 650k and as such reasonable

Am I wrong in my calculations ?
