    Default EOI processing

    Hi, everyone i am new to forum, i recently apply my manual Eoi through lawyer which was entered in the pool on 24/05/16. Now my lawyer got a letter from immigration today which says your EOI was entered into the pool with others that have passed the threshold of 100 points.

    *what does this mean my Eoi has been selected or there are still more steps before they will select it?
    *Is the processing time of Manual and online EOI is same or different?
    *My total points were 160 thts wt we claimed but in this letter it shows i have 165 points???????

    my lawyer is away so he is not really in contact at the moment so pls help me with some information?

    Thanks

    An EOI is automatically selected if it has 100 points (with a job offer) or 140 points (with or without a job offer).
    It has been selected, but it is now subject to a preliminary check for credibility. If it's fine then an ITA will be sent to you.

    Manual vs online EOI: there is no clear information, but I guess manual would take more time as the staff have to do more data entry tasks compared to online EOI.

    160 vs 165: I think your point of 160 wasn't calculated correctly because you did a manual EOI (adding points by pen and paper). It's not really important though. Once selected, higher points doesn't mean any advantage. All ITAs shall be treated equally.

    It depends on your branch and your EOI. However most branches give an indicative EOI processing time frame of 3 weeks.
    So your EOI was selected on 25th of May, you can hope to see your ITA in early-mid June.

    It should be processed by the nearest branch to your location.
    If you're in Auckland:-
    - Applying by yourself => Auckland Center, Queen Street branch
    - Applying with lawyer/advisor => Henderson branch
    However recently many applications in Welly and Christchurch were shifted to Auckland as well.
