Default Is it illegal to work 7 days a week in NZ?

So my supervisor asked if I had any weekend commitments and I replied not at all (wanting to put on a good face) as my normal schedule is Mon-Fri, she asked if I could work Saturday and Sunday from next week onward and that's 7 days a week without a break.

I'm thinking I might go insane from stress if I take this on.

Is it illegal to be working 7 days a week?

That schedule sounds awful. It's not illegal to work 7 days but it might be for you. It depends on your employment contract. Have a look here:

well I don't think it is illegal. I have a flatmate and she is working in retail industry. sometimes she still has to work 7 days a week but very rarely though.

How many hours a week does that add up to, even if they're spread over seven days?

    50 hours plus+ with 8 hour shifts.

How should I tell my supervisor I need at least one rest day to recover? Because hell to that working 7 days :/

I'm already stressed enough with 5 days lol
