Police cert required for tourist countries of ACCUMULATED 12 months
My CO has just asked me to send through a police certificate for Mexico, as I have spent a total of over 12 months there (over the last 7 years).
I wasn't aware that
a) they would ask this (wasn't in my list of documents for ITA)
b) it would be possible to obtain police certs for tourists??
Does anybody have any experience in this?
Either in a general sense, or more specifically related to Mexico?
It's very hard to get hold of a cert as a non-Mexican, as I have to send a ton of documents (including police fingerprints from NZ, which you can only get on Wednesdays by appointment), and my original passport and driver's licence, and then have to ask somebody who is physically in Mexico to take the papers for me, and go back 5-10 days later to pick them up a courier them back here. It's going to cost us up to a month and about $300, so if anybody has any information on how to get through this easier/quicker/cheaper then I'd love to hear from you!
Thanks!
