Tax return in New Zealand.

Hi Friends,

I would like to get some idea on tax return in NZ.

How the tax return amount calculated based on ? and do we need to claim for tax return yearly basis or as a bulk can be claimed after few years ?

I know few of my friends using agent for to file for tax return , is it necessary ?

I am new to NZ, and started working here since Feb 2016.
