Changess to documents required
I have received my ITA which is good news. The 220 points on my EOI has not been reduced. I have a job offer in NZ as structural engineer which i am obviously claiming points for being on skills shortage list. To claim these points you need a degree accredited by Washington accord, which I have. So n my EOI I have claimed i have a degree exempt from assessment. Now in the document checklist of the ITA there is no mention of washinton accord and only that if it isn't on the list i must apply for NZQA assessment.
My question is do i submit my qualification cert without NZQA as I know that it isn't required and that I may just have the points removed for having an exempt qualification? or Do I have to get the NZQA as it is in the checklist and the checklist trumps all whether I need the points or not? I guess what I am asking is can I change my points total at this point?
I have tried to call the helpline but was on hold for 25 mins and still no. 30 in queue..
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Do you really need to score that 220? The more points you accumulate, more documentations needed, which also means longer period for checking etc etc.

My guess is that the list is a standard formula, not altered according to the specifics of an individual application. In your place, I would submit without the IQA, mentioning in your cover letter that your degree is Washington Accord and that is why you do not need it.

Thanks for your replies.
It says on the ITA letter it is a personalised checklist and to include all documents listed, if documents are missing, your application will not be accepted and will be sent back. So do you think I can say, I don't need those points for the qualification so don't send the requested documents?

You can say that if you wish.
Bear in mind, you actually only need 100 points for selection, since you have the offer of a skilled job. Count up and see which you actually require, to show that you are qualified for the job.

Hi all,
I have called the helpline, they gave me my case officers email address. I emailed the case officer and he got straight back to me saying that I didn't need the points so I could apply without the NZQA assessment.
