    Default Chef jobs

    Hi

I am a qualified Sous Chef from south African. I hold a diploma in professional cooking and culinary arts from City and guilds. What is the best process to find a job offer so my EOI points are more than 140?

You need a minimum of 140 points to get your EOI selected only if you DON'T have a job offer.

If you have a job offer, your EOI will be selected with a minimum of 100 points.

INZ check out your job to make sure that the employer is keeping to employment law, and also will look at your rate of pay to see if it is in line with the normal rate for that skilled job in that area. (This is because some crooked applicants and employers would lie that it was a skilled job, when it was just floor-sweeper or something basic, but the rate of pay for the real job would show it up.)

So if they find that your pay is very low, compared with other junior chefs de partie in the area, BUT you are doing the proper, skilled job, they might think your employer was not running his business properly (unfairness to employees).

Has your boss sponsored other people for residence, before you?
