Default IR 330 (entitlement to work)

    Hello,

While filling up IR 330, there are 2 options to check in 'entitlement to work' section. I am slightly confused for residence class visas.

    A) I am a NZ or Australian citizen or am entitled to work indefinitely in NZ.

I am inclined to select this due to the wording - indefinitely. That's what it says on my visa for duration.

    B) I hold a valid visa with conditions allowing work in NZ.

I am inclined to select this due to the travel 'conditions' on my residence class visa. I am not sure if the HR manager would fully understand travel conditions and difference between this class of visa and 'permanent' residence visa.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

    A) is you. You're entitled to work indefinitely.

The travel conditions on your Residence visa are nothing to do with your being allowed to work in NZ. Option B is for people who have a temporary work visa, whose conditions state, for instance, that they may work for just the one employer, or for any employer within the Canterbury region.
