Skilled Migrant Visa
Hi Everyone,
I wish to apply for a NZ skilled migrant visa, but I would like to get a job offer first to boost my chances. I am not in NZ (I am in South Africa) and does anyone know how best I can go about it (getting a job offer)? I can still get above 140 points without a job offer, and as a Mechanical Engineer with more than 10 years, should I just go ahead and submit an EOI?
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

If you meet all the requirements and really do have 140 points then get your EOI in now. You will be slected at the next selection (which are fortnightly)That will put your in a much better position with any employer , knowing that with an ITA you don't have to worry about labour market checks for a work visa. Its pretty difficult getting a job offer without being in New Zealand, so see other threads re "look see decide" visits.

Chris, have you heard anything official about 'look, see and decide' since the link disappeared with the previous version of the INZ website?
