What do you mean by 'temporary residency'? - he sponsored her for Residence? If so, there's nothing temporary about it - it gives her the right to live and work in NZ for ever, while she is in the country.

And that is her Residence, not dependent on anything or anyone now that it has been granted. They had to prove they were a couple BEFORE the visa was granted, but now the grant has happened, their situation is of no further concern to INZ.

For her to get PR, she has to fulfil the conditions in just the same way as anyone who got Residence after applying under SMC because of their career. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...anent-resident

No, she doesn't need to change her visa, and she doesn't need to inform INZ, if she gets a divorce.

What she has to supply to get PR depends partly on which option she uses to prove commitment to New Zealand. She should look at this page https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ZL&applying=no and click on the 'evidence' tags down the side for more details. There is NO requirement about working if she uses the 'time in NZ' criterion to prove her commitment.
