Default Resident Visa as a Chef

    Hi
I am planning to apply for my residency as a Chef ANZSCO code 351311
I am working as a Junior Chef de Partie
I have qualification (NZQA Assessed) Level 5 Diploma
    Ielts 7 bands
Working as a chef outside auckland(30Points) as a Junior Chef De Partie

    i just need to confirm
"Is it compulsory that all the ANZSCO tasks i should be doing before applying for residency?"

Do they check when i send EOI that what post i am working as?
    Or
    They just send ITA?

    Kindly Reply
    Thanks

Not ALL, but most of them.

You will need to write on the EOI what your job is. INZ won't investigate the company, or what you do in your job, at first. If it looks, from what you've written on the form, as though you are entitled to claim the points you have put down, then they will issue the ITA. When you send that back in, THEN everything you have said about yourself, including your job, will be checked.

    Hi
I have also applied for residency under same category. My job title is chef... my lawyer told me job description should match the ANZSCO. Most of the files get decline for the wrong job description. Its been 2 months now. I am waiting for CO to be allocated. Is there any one who can tell how long it takes usually and can someone please help me with interview questions.... i am very nervous about the interview.

the interview questions will be based on anzsco and your job duties in the kitchen?

Im my view INZ are applying too high a test here in some cases. ANZSCO requires that chefs "plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food...." It also mentions that roles may include . demi chef, chef de partie, etc. I don't see that a "chef" has to be responsible for the entire establishment, just that they plan an organise the cooking of food (perhaps just in their section?) There does though have to be a substantial match to the tasks listed in ANZSCO.

I think they are applying the test used for retail managers who are required to "organise and control the operations of establishments"

    Yes thats right ChrisMwn
They are making it quite difficult for Chef to get residency....
In a big resto where about (150-200) meals are served evveryday....one person just cant do all the tasks...from planning to monitoring and cooking..stock mgmnt...its really hard..
