This assessment means you can claim points for your higher qualification, based on the Level recognized. If you want to claim bonus points for a career that is on the LTSSL, you will have to get assessed by IPENZ, because your qualifications are concerned with engineering.

    Hi JandM,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I will have to clarify this point from you. I understand your reason. But, there are 3 professions in the LTSSL that are related to current Job. Those are listed below,
    1) Software Engineer
    2) Software Developer
    3) Developer Programmer

If I claim points for any of this profession using my M.Sc in Enterprise Software Engineering (Not using my B.Sc(Hons) Eletrical Engineering degree) Still Do I have to go through IPENZ? (Because Software Engineering does not come under the Generic engineering category).

Please also let me know , Do I need to assess both of my degrees via IPENZ ? What are the information do I need to pass ?

Software Engineer profession does not require professional registration to do the job in NZ as far as I know.

    Regards,
    Ragu

The NZ government decided last winter to stop allowing NZQA to investigate the content of ALL engineering - and yes, that includes computer engineering - degrees, and instead, to pass the responsibility for that to IPENZ. And IPENZ do know about IT engineering as well.

Look at the old threads to see what others did. And if you contact IPENZ, they will tell you what you need to send them.

    Hi JandM,

I checked some thread regarding the exact outcome that I got. You mentioned in a thread that they will send a form with the ITA. If we claim bonus points , and if the qualification needs to be assessed by IPENZ.

The form that INZ usually send out with the ITA is the one that asks NZQA to check specifically to see if the content of your degree is comparable to the NZ qualifications listed in the LTSSL box for a particular career (e.g. here http://skillshortages.immigration.go...ware-engineer/). For most careers, except these days the ones involving engineering, NZQA can give a definite yes or no answer, telling the person if they can get their bonus points. Nowadays, it's not NZQA's job to do that for engineering jobs, because the government has said it's now IPENZ's responsibility. You still had to have the IQA from NZQA, to have your NZ Level's declared for your basic points, though. Here are some old threads where people who have gone through this discussed the process. https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz.org+IPENZ

    Hi JandM,

Based on the Assessment outcome's explanation letter, I will have to assess my Bachelor of the Science of the Engineering Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering in order to receive Bonus points for "Recognised Qualification for LTSSL(Software Engineer)" ?. Am I correct? Should I tell to IPENZ to request the form for the Immigration Bonus points? I

It means that the IPENZ should provide a letter saying that my degree in equivalent to the degree mentioned under the LTSSL category for Software engineer profession. Am I correct? I hope the IPENZ should relate my degree to Bachelor of Engineering ( Electronics & Electrical).

FYI, IESL from Srilanka is recognized accredited by the Washington accord since 2008(Intake year). My degree was gained in 2008(intake in 2004). Will i get a positive result from IPENZ?

FYI, My university and electrical engineering are accredited by the Washington Accord which I found from my university website. https://www.mrt.ac.lk/web/news/washi...-accreditation

What should I do next ?

With all this specialist detail, you have gone right beyond my knowledge. I think you had better PM ChrisMwn and Karen Phillips, the LIAs, and ask their advice.
