    Default Immigration confusion

    Hi,

I have been looking at the NZ immigration site for an answer to my situation and all i have been doing is getting myself confused. My situation is this: I am a NZ citizen living in the Uk with my Hungarian partner. I now wish to return to NZ with my partner but we have only been living together for the last 5 months. We are also expecting our first child in Febuary and i would love for him or her to be born in NZ. So i would like to know if there is a visa that would suit out situation the best. I am aware that she can come over for three months on the wavier scheme but what to do after that i am not sure. Also because she has a NZ partner are we entitle to free mateinaty care ? or do we have to pay for it ourselves, no real problem as we could if we have too. Thanks in advance.

Your partner can apply for a partner-sponsored temporary work visa https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...s-visa-holders. We know from experience that INZ take seriously applications with 2 - 3 months' evidence of living together. The kind of evidence you need is noted on the INZ website, but you will find a lot of discussion and examples to give you ideas on these old threads. https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz...tnership+proof (Keep on collecting evidence even after you have applied, because they ask for more proof just before the visa is granted, covering the time of processing. Also, you will need this same evidence again when, after you've got 12 months' evidence, she applies for partner-sponsored Residence.)

Your baby will be a NZ citizen, and you are, and that means that all your partner's maternity care, and the baby's, are free. http://www.health.govt.nz/new-zealan...nancy-services
