Question on Pregnancy

Hi All,

This is a bit of a random question (and it's purely hypothetical!), but if a woman on a tourist visa gave birth in NZ and the father was an NZ citizen, obviously the baby would be an NZ citizen too, but what would happen to the mother? Would she have any ability to remain in NZ with the child after her tourist visa expired? I imagine a partnership visa would be an option, but would there be any other options assuming that the mother did not qualify for any other type of work visa etc?

There aren't any visas available based solely on being the parent of a Kiwi.

Yes.... that was my interpretation of things on the Immigration website. The partnership visa would be the answer.
