Help needed
Hi friends, I m asking this question on the behalf of my friend. His wife is pregnant and he is currently studying and about to apply for job search visa. He is stressed as its very expensive and not able to use public funded health services. as he dont have resident visa.
1. Someone told him that if he hold 2 years work visa and then his wife will also get 2 years work visa and be able to use public funded health services and don't have to pay money something, is it true ??
2. Now he is on the stage of applying job Search visa but he has got job offer as well, so just for this reason he want to skip job search visa and directly apply employer work visa. Is it possible or any problem can come ???
Please any advise will be much appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

1. Yes. http://www.health.govt.nz/new-zealan...-years-or-more https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...s-visa-holders
2. Yes, he can EITHER go directly for a work visa (Essential Skills, if the job qualifies, or Work To Residence, if the employer is accredited). There is no obligation to take out a post-study job search visa first.
