Default Not acceptable level of health

    Good day.
My wife was referred to a medical assessor. She had Hodgkin lymphoma but was declared in remission in May. Before we came to NZ, we were assessed by an immigration consultant company based on a report written by the treating oncologist stating that she is in full remission and that reoccurrence is less than 10%. After the assessment they assured us that she meets the acceptable level.
The medical assessor then came back and said that she does not have acceptable level of health and that she will need specialist treatment and will not be able to work all the time because of the treatment needed.
It seems to me that he based this assessment on the fact that she still has her port. The only reason the port was left in is because it did not bother her and a port can stay in your body indefinitely.
She only needs check ups every few months.
Other than that she is in perfect health.
INZ said we can submit extra documents in regards to the assessment, but honestly after submitting a report from the Specialist Doctor that treated her what else could we submit?

You can submit an absolutely up-to-date report from the specialist, in which he also insists on his seniority in his field, and addresses the points they make. You need to fight for this if you want it. See this old thread for inspiration. http://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27811

I want to ask another question regarding this. Whit the law changes yesterday, my wife no longer qualifies for the skilled migrant visa. The work visa is now still in process depending on extra reports from specialists. Can we not ask them then for a 12 month work visa instead, seeing as the health requirements are less.
