Wallaceville land UpperHutt - is it safe to live in that area?

I'm looking to buy land in Wallaceville UpperHutt and one of my friend mentioned me that land was not suitable for residential purpose because of its history as a infectious disease research centre and there is still risk to human health if anyone live on that land would be risking their life

Does anyone know about wallaceville property and is it safe to buy land and build house on those area?
