Hi, I've finished my studies in Master of Professional Account(level8/9). I'm now on post study work visa(open), recently i managed to secure a permanent full time position relevant to my studies.
However, i tried matching the job description on ANZSCO. This role is more likely to be classified as a skilled 4 accounting role, so SMC is not likely to happened. I am thinking of applying for Post study work visa - employer assisted (2 year). However, my immigration adviser had told me the 2 most important criteria of this visa.
WD1.5 Relevance of qualification(s) to employment
Qualifications are relevant to employment if:
- the major subject area and level of the principal applicant's recognised qualification is directly applicable to the employment; and
- the immigration officer is satisfied that the qualification was a key factor in the employer's decision to employ the principal applicant in that position.
Where the major subject area can be consider as finance/accounting relevant. He thinks that it is possible INZ will challenge as my qualification is "too high" for this skilled 4 role.??
Furthermore, how do i prove to the immigration officer that employer hired me because of my qualification ?(members of my team mostly does not possessed a bachelor/master degree in finance/accounting) ?
It is really demoralizing, no decent company will hire me as an accountant because i lack the NZ experience. Which i don't have a problem because i can build up the experience at lower level and a couple of years later when i gained the necessary experience, i'll move on from there. But now they are telling me, my qualification is too high for low skiled position ?( does INZ really understand the labour market in NZ ?)
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
