Default SMC Application - Wife's eligibility to apply

    Hi Everyone,

I'm applying for permanent residence via SMC, together with my wife, I am the principal applicant. ITA was lodged in April this year and still in process.

My question is, in 2014 my wife went on a 6 months course under NZAid Scholarship to NZ, and i believe there is a 2 year ban on her that will affect her eligibility to apply for permanent residence visa to NZ. Can anyone please advise if her situation will affect my application as well even though i am the principal applicant and i didnt go in the scholarship, or only her application will be affected. For your info, we were married in 2008.

    Thank you

There is the rule. https://www.mfat.govt.nz/assets/_sec...cholarship.pdf Section 5.1.

If the timing is not two years since she finished the course, it looks as though she CAN'T be on the SMC with you.

For yourself, I think you need to check with the authorities.
