    Default Employer Assisted Work Visa

    Hi,

I have a question regarding my eligibility to apply for Employer Assisted Work Visa.

I'm currently holding Post Graduate Job Seek visa and working full time as Information System Analyst in Wellington. My degree is Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance. As current visa is nearly coming to the expiry date, I'm planning to apply for work visa under Category: Employer Assisted Work Visa, but I'm not sure if I'm eligible to apply.

Given the fact that the position is not very much matching my majors Accounting and Finance, does it mean I can't apply for this category at all? During undergraduate study, Bachelor of Commerce does include Information System paper, which I can use and apply to my current job. Also, The job is within Finance department.

If I can't apply for Employer Assisted Work Visa, Is there any other category I can apply under this circumstance?

    Thank you!

This https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ZL&applying=no is what INZ says about it. You are the best placed to judge, and you are saying you don't think you meet the criteria. To qualify for that particular visa, you may need to find a different job.

There are other visas which might apply to you in this job. Is your employer accredited? https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...residence-visa If he is not, maybe this https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ills-work-visa, but there is the labour market test - the employer would need to have demonstrably advertised your job while you are still in it, and not received any suitable applications.

    Hi,

Thank you for your information. I believe the company is accredited. Does it mean I can apply through Accredited Resident Visa, given the fact of my case as mentioned above?

    Thanks!

Talk to your employer. If he is accredited, he will know all the necessary formalities, and if you qualify. For that, it is very much a matter of the employer's judgement of if the employee has the right qualities for the job. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...ZL&applying=no
