Default SMC - Bonus points for New Zealand qualifications

    Hi all,

As far as I understand, applicant will earn 10 bonus points if he or she has a recognized post-graduate New Zealand qualification requiring a minimum of one year of full-time study in New Zealand (levels eight, nine, or 10 on the NZQF).

Is there a clear definition whether one year here is understood as one academic year (two semesters) or one calendar year (365 days or 12 months)?

Thanks in advance for your clarification!

At the post-graduate level, you enroll in school for one full year / 365 days.

But 2 semesters v 1 year is basically the same thing here. Semester 1 is Feb-July, Semester 2 is Aug-November.

So, my concern is whether a two-semester postgraduate course (from Feb to Nov) is considered as one year of full-time study, although it lasts for less than 12 months or 365 days?

A year at uni level is equal at two semesters! You have to do an international qualification assessed (NZQA) for your bachelor degree and post-graduate degree - them for sure you will know if you could get that extra points!
