    Question Visiting New Zealand Without Activating Visa

    Hi there! I am nearing the end of the visa process and had a quick question.

    I heard that I have to send my passport to get stamped within 6 months of being approved and once stamped I have 1 year to activate. If I go to New Zealand before sending my passport in would that be ok and not activate my residency? The reason I ask is I want to go there and line up some items, jobs, location to live etc. before activating. Is this possible?

    you can't activate a visa that hasnt been issued!

    be prepared to explain the reason for your "visit" if questioned and you'll need an outward ticket.
